Basic Jewellery Care
Daily Care: Even a diamond, one of the hardest materials on earth, can be damaged without proper attention. Always remove your jewellery when swimming or washing hands. Avoid household bleach, which can cause discolouration and disintegration of gold.
Avoid Household Chemicals & Extreme Temperatures: Prevent your jewellery from coming into contact with household chemicals such as perfume, hairspray, cosmetics, and lotion. Hardstones are particularly sensitive to chemicals and extreme temperatures, so be mindful of exposure.
Avoid Hard Surfaces: Protect your jewellery from contact with hard and abrasive surfaces to prevent chipping, erosion, and scratches.
At-Home Cleaning: Gently clean your jewellery with warm soapy water and a soft brush, then pat dry with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid using ultrasonic cleaners and alcohol wipes. While cleaning, check gemstone and diamond settings for any damage.

Storage Tips
Proper Storage: Store each piece separately in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original case. Avoid storing jewellery in humid environments like bathrooms.

General Questions
To keep your heirloom pieces in pristine condition, we recommend removing them before activities where they might come into contact with chemicals or substances. This includes:
Household chores: Activities such as gardening, cooking, and cleaning can expose your jewellery to heat, bleach, and other cleaners that may damage precious metals and gemstones.
Water activities: Avoid wearing jewellery at the beach, swimming pool, or jacuzzi, as chlorine can harm both gemstones and metals.
Exercise and sports: Physical activities can cause impact and pressure that may damage your jewellery.
Cosmetics: Apply lotions, hair products, and cosmetics before putting on your jewellery to avoid chemical exposure.
Heavy lifting: Be cautious when lifting heavy objects to prevent knocking or catching your jewellery.
Metal interactions: Avoid stacking 18K gold jewellery against harder metals like platinum, as this can cause wear on the softer gold.
Sleeping: Remove your jewellery before sleeping and store it in its own box, away from other polished surfaces that may cause scratches.
Emerald and Aquamarine Care:
Emeralds and aquamarines require special attention. Avoid exposing these gemstones to intense heat (over 60°C) or drastic temperature changes. Keep them away from dishwashing water, chemicals, or body creams that can strip their natural oils, reducing their clarity. Clean these gemstones with lukewarm water, a soft toothbrush, and no soap additives, then dry them with a lint-free soft cloth.
